One thing I have never done is make a vision board. I’ve heard a lot about them but never decided to make one. So after some research I decided to make one for 2019 and so should you. Vision boards are basically visualization tools to help you reach your goals. Sometimes just writing your goals down isn’t enough, you have to picture them. Our minds respond strongly to visual stimulation. So instead of saying you want abs , find a picture of someone with your goal body and work hard to get to there. Vision Boards will help you focus on that goal.

Creating Your Vision Board

Decide what you want on your vision board

When it comes to what you are putting on your vision board you should start out with your goals for the new year and your theme for that year. What are somethings you would like to accomplish in 2019. For me when I think about goals I want to set I think about different aspects of my life. What are my goals mentally, physically, financially? Where are some places I want to go, What are some things I want to do? What are some things I want to buy? What do I want more or less of in my life?

After you have figured out those things next you need to find images that correlate with those goals. I personally would recommend Pinterest than google to find your images because normally Pinterest images are a little more aesthetically pleasing but it is up to you where you find your images. You can do magazine cut outs, take pictures of your own, it’s up to you.

Mantras and Keywords

So now that you have the images that represent your goals I like to add quotes, mantras, and keywords that are important to me for the new year, things I want to remind myself through out the year. Also I added number goals so say you want to save $10,000 dollars this year put that on your board as well.

Make it your own

Once your done with the all the technical stuff you should make your vision board you. Give it some personality. If you like flowers add flowers, it you like polka dots add those. For mines I added streaks of paint because I like to paint and I like the look of it. Also I picked a color scheme (Pink of course). I made sure the images I picked have pink accents and my lettering is also pink.

Where To Put It

Once you are done with your vision board, you need to put it somewhere that you will see it throughout the year. It can be on the back of your door, in a picture frame, posted it on your wall whatever space works for you. I personally did my vision board digitally. I made it in Photoshop and set it as my screen saver. For me my computer is something that I use everyday and know that I will see my board everyday, plus it saves on paper which is one of my goals to declutter the paper I have and stop collecting more of it. If you want to make a digital vision like I did the size for that is 1920 x 1080 pixels. And you can use Canva if you don’t have Photoshop.

And that’s it now you have your vision board it’s time to get to work on those goals!!
