2018 Reflection

At the end of each year I like to reflect on the past 12 months. For this year it is kind of hard to reflect because I was all a big blur, It came and went. This year for me wasn’t grand nor boring it was just there which I am find out has been the case for a lot of people. I believe I’ve grown a lot this year and for most years I feel like I have grown also but for this year I feel like I’ve grown in a different way. I’ve gain so much knowledge about myself, and what I want out of life and what I don’t want out of life which is awesome!! This was the year of realization, learning, and putting myself out there a little more.

What I am Grateful For

Family - This year I spent more time with my family than I have ever done before. And that time spent was fun and memorable.

Health - In past years my health has always been rocky but this year I was able to do things I haven’t been able to do in a long time because my health was so unsteady. I am proud of how far I have come and I will continue to push myself.

Financial Stability - This year I didn’t make a ton of money but I didn’t waste a lot of it either. This year I learned a lot about self control when it comes to shopping and spending money. Next year I hope to expand on this and work really hard to get to my savings goals.

Knowledge - Like I said before I learned a lot about myself this year, and taught myself new skills.

Growth as a person - I can now see what is important to me in life and now that I know that I can work on making those things come to fruition.

2018 Wins

Like I said for this year I didn’t have a lot of big wins but these are some things that were wins to me:

  • Instagram Growth

  • The Courage to start my YouTube channel

  • Figuring out my Blog and YouTube focus

  • Learning how to deal with stress and not letting it affect my health.

Lessons Learned in 2018

  • Don’t Compare to others because you are unique in you own way and you should embrace that.

  • Consistency is key if you want to see something grow

  • You can be your own boss

  • Be confident in yourself and your abilities.

My Thank You Letter to 2018

Thank You 2018 for year of knowledge. Although there were no big accomplishments, this year has thought me a lot about myself. Where I want to be, and how I am going to get there. This year has been my preparation year and has gotten me ready for 2019. 2019 will be the year of accomplishments. So to 2018 Thank You for preparing me for it!! - xoxo Manique

Vision Boards For The New Year

Images via Pinterest (Not my actual vision board :)

One thing I have never done is make a vision board. I’ve heard a lot about them but never decided to make one. So after some research I decided to make one for 2019 and so should you. Vision boards are basically visualization tools to help you reach your goals. Sometimes just writing your goals down isn’t enough, you have to picture them. Our minds respond strongly to visual stimulation. So instead of saying you want abs , find a picture of someone with your goal body and work hard to get to there. Vision Boards will help you focus on that goal.

Creating Your Vision Board

Decide what you want on your vision board

When it comes to what you are putting on your vision board you should start out with your goals for the new year and your theme for that year. What are somethings you would like to accomplish in 2019. For me when I think about goals I want to set I think about different aspects of my life. What are my goals mentally, physically, financially? Where are some places I want to go, What are some things I want to do? What are some things I want to buy? What do I want more or less of in my life?

After you have figured out those things next you need to find images that correlate with those goals. I personally would recommend Pinterest than google to find your images because normally Pinterest images are a little more aesthetically pleasing but it is up to you where you find your images. You can do magazine cut outs, take pictures of your own, it’s up to you.

Mantras and Keywords

So now that you have the images that represent your goals I like to add quotes, mantras, and keywords that are important to me for the new year, things I want to remind myself through out the year. Also I added number goals so say you want to save $10,000 dollars this year put that on your board as well.

Make it your own

Once your done with the all the technical stuff you should make your vision board you. Give it some personality. If you like flowers add flowers, it you like polka dots add those. For mines I added streaks of paint because I like to paint and I like the look of it. Also I picked a color scheme (Pink of course). I made sure the images I picked have pink accents and my lettering is also pink.

Where To Put It

Once you are done with your vision board, you need to put it somewhere that you will see it throughout the year. It can be on the back of your door, in a picture frame, posted it on your wall whatever space works for you. I personally did my vision board digitally. I made it in Photoshop and set it as my screen saver. For me my computer is something that I use everyday and know that I will see my board everyday, plus it saves on paper which is one of my goals to declutter the paper I have and stop collecting more of it. If you want to make a digital vision like I did the size for that is 1920 x 1080 pixels. And you can use Canva if you don’t have Photoshop.

And that’s it now you have your vision board it’s time to get to work on those goals!!

2018 Goals

20171221573538488-01 (1).jpeg

Happy New Year Everyone!!! Since it's a new year I thought I would share my 2018 goals. I don't have as many goals as last year. This year I just wanted to pick my top goals and focus really hard on those than having a whole list of goals that I probably won't be able to accomplish all of them.

Stay Consistent - This was one of my goals for last year and I didn't accomplish this goals so it has made it at the top of my 2018 goals. By staying consistent I mean consistently posting blog post, social media post, working out, drink water. Everything I would like to be consistent at and make it a routine.

Start my YouTube Channel - So I already have a blog but I want to see how I like making video content. This is something I am excited about because sometimes you have ideas for content but you think it would be better as video content rather than  written content. Plus this is a way for me to step out of my comfort zone.

Healthier Lifestyle  - I would like to be the best version of myself this year and to do that I need to have a healthier lifestyle so that means eating my fruits and veggies, drinking water, working out, getting enough sleep, etc. If I do all of those things than it will help me be the best version of myself.

Be more adventurous and social  - Being more adventurous and getting out of my shell is something I struggle with. This year I would like to make new friends, try and learn new things and get out of my usual routine.

Budget better   - This was a goals of mines last year and I did do better at budgeting and spending especially when it comes to clothing but this goal made it on my 2018 list because I think I can do better at budgeting. I would like to save up enough money this year to buy a house next year so I would like to be a bit more strict on what I spend money on.

Give everything 110% - My last and final goal for this year is to just give everything that I am doing 110%. This applies to school, blogging, YouTube, working out, and anything else. I want to give everything my all. This is something that I did this past semester in school and I have to say I liked the results I got.

So that’s  all of my goals for 2018! I hope that everyone has a great year and accomplishes every goal they set.

What are your 2018 Goals ?
