Recently I started journaling. Journaling can be different for many people, it could mean writing, drawing, and saving memories. I use my journal to express myself through art. My art journal is something really enjoy having. It helps me escape my busy life and helps with my stress and anxiety levels. If you are looking for something to help with either or are on the fence about journaling here are some for the amazing benefits to journaling.

Mindfulness - Journaling makes you go into a mindful state. When you are journaling you are not thinking about other things like how much homework you have or all the things you have to do tomorrow. You are just in the moment.

Sparks Creativity - When I am having creative block I like to draw. It makes me not think about things so much. I am able to better think and clear my mind and comeback better and ready to brainstorm new ideas.

Reduces Stress - Since I am able to clarify my thoughts and focus on one thing instead of a million things like I normally do , I am able to reduce stress. I have a lot of things on my plate like most people. I have to work, go to school, blog, make YouTube content, and find time to just live life. All of these things can become overwhelming. So doing something that is not actually on my to do list or a task is refreshing.

Other Benefits

  • Solve problems more effectively
  • Cope with Depression
  • Clarify thoughts and feelings

Benefits of Unplugging

Taking a break from the online universe can really refresh your mind and get you back on track if you need it. You can start to refocus and come back renewed  and less stressed. It’s good this day and time to unplug once in awhile, most of what we do is online, how we interact, learn, and for some work.

While unplugging, you might be a little lost as to what you should do with your free time. For me I can stay on the computer for hours, working on blog post, scheduling social media post, editing pictures, etc. I try to unplug at least four times a month to get a mental break.  Here are some things I do when I take those breaks:

  • Have a Spa day
  • Do some Drawings
  • Organize my Desk
  • Study my Bible
  • Watercolor Painting
  • Go out and take some photos
  • Watch a new movie
  • Exercise

Foods That Boost Your Immune System

I think it's save to say that no one likes being sick, I know I don't. But sometimes it's inevitable whether we like it or not. Here are some foods that can boost your immune system and help you fight a cold or prevent you from getting one in the first place.

1. Oats - It has a great source of fiber and it boosts immunity, speeds up wound healing, and can help antibiotics work better.

2. Tea - It has a lot of health and beauty benefits. The amino acid that's responsible for this immune boost, L-theanine, is abundant in both black and green tea.

3. Garlic - It can fight infections and bacteria and lowers your chances of catching a cold.

4. Yogurt -It is high in probiotics which is a  healthy bacteria that keeps the stomach and digestive tract free of disease causing germs.

5. Mushrooms - Studies have shown that mushrooms increase the production and activity of white blood cells, making them more aggressive. Which is good for fighting a cold.
