Recently I started journaling. Journaling can be different for many people, it could mean writing, drawing, and saving memories. I use my journal to express myself through art. My art journal is something really enjoy having. It helps me escape my busy life and helps with my stress and anxiety levels. If you are looking for something to help with either or are on the fence about journaling here are some for the amazing benefits to journaling.

Mindfulness - Journaling makes you go into a mindful state. When you are journaling you are not thinking about other things like how much homework you have or all the things you have to do tomorrow. You are just in the moment. 

Sparks Creativity - When I am having creative block I like to draw. It makes me not think about things so much. I am able to better think and clear my mind and comeback better and ready to brainstorm new ideas.

Reduces Stress - Since I am able to clarify my thoughts and focus on one thing instead of a million things like I normally do , I am able to reduce stress. I have a lot of things on my plate like most people. I have to work, go to school, blog, make YouTube content, and find time to just live life. All of these things can become overwhelming. So doing something that is not actually on my to do list or a task is refreshing.

Things You Should Avoid Before Bed


There are some things you should never do before going to bed. I know from experience what a no no before bed time like watching a scary movie. Here are some other things you should avoid before going to bed.

Spicy Foods - Eating spicy foods before going to bed can give you indigestion and heartburn.

Caffeine - Caffeine before bed can keep you up all night.

Exercise - Exercising before bed can keep you heart rate up making it hard to go to sleep.

A lot of Water - Drinking a lot of water can keep you up all night because every 5 minutes you will need to get up and go to the bathroom. 

Scary Movies - Watching a scary movie before bed is not the best idea. You will definitely have nightmares and not be able to sleep.

Lots of Sugar -  Too much sugar before bed can make you feel jittery and keep you up.

One of my new obsessions is witch hazel. I have recently been having these crazy random breakouts, mainly on my forehead. So I started looking up natural ways to get rid of acne. Benefits of Unplugging

Taking a break from the online universe can really refresh your mind and get you back on track if you need it. You can start to refocus and come back renewed  and less stressed. It’s good this day and time to unplug once in awhile, most of what we do is online, how we interact, learn, and for some work. 

While unplugging, you might be a little lost as to what you should do with your free time. For me I can stay on the computer for hours, working on blog post, scheduling social media post, editing pictures, etc. I try to unplug at least four times a month to get a mental break.  Here are some things I do when I take those breaks:

  • Have a Spa day
  • Do some Drawings
  • Organize my Desk
  • Study my Bible
  • Watercolor Painting
  • Go out and take some photos
  • Watch a new movie
